BARKMAN, Wilma Adeline (nee Hamilton)

Wilma passed away at St Barnabas Home, in St Clair, with family at her bedside; aged 91 years
Wilma was born in Middlemarch and was the loved daughter of *Robert (Bob) and *Maude Hamilton, and sister of *Keith.
Wilma and Don Barkman married in 1957, and had many adventures in their 66 year marriage. Wilma is the loved mother of Glenn and Julie (Sydney), Adele and Paul Ellwood (Dunedin) and Trevor and Nancy (Melbourne). Loved Nana of Phil and Sarah, Richard and Lucas, Kirsty, Teslyn, Hannah and Matt. Loved Great Nana of Liam, Harrison, Oscar, Declan, Ramona, George, Hallie and Cara.
Loved sister-in-law of *Wilma and *Eric Page, Watson and *Madelene, *Graham and *Betty, *Alwyn and *George Adams, Daphne and *Lynn Fenwick, Wyndham and Joan, *Colin and *Annette, and *Kelvin and Valerie. (*Denotes deceased)
A service for Wilma will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road at 2pm on Friday May 30, followed by private cremation.
In lieu of flowers donations for Presbyterian Support would be appreciated and may be left at the service.

Dear Glen, Adele and your families. It's sad for me to have your parents death notices stuck into my scrapbook, along with many other friends, It's a scrapbook that holds many memories for me. This is a sad time for you both, and many others, on the death of your mum. Please accept my condolences. This has brought back many memories of Dunback days for me. Regards Shirley Bradley
Fond memories of Wilma at Lodge dinners and social events. Where ever Don was Wilma was never far away. Our thoughts are with the Barkman Family at this difficult time.
Wilma was much loved by the Waihemo Community. She was always willing to help the school and community in a constructive manor. Her ability to assess situations and construct positive responses was appreciated. With love and respect Heather and Alex Familton.
To the Barkman Family, Our deepest sympathy to all on the passing of Wilma. Wilma was a long-time and much-loved member of our church family at Dunedin South Presbyterian Church. She served faithfully as an Elder for many years, offering her wisdom, care, and quiet leadership to our congregation. Wilma was deeply committed to Operation Cover Up, a Christian-based mission providing knitted clothing and blankets for children in Eastern Europe. She dedicated countless hours to knitting beautiful garments and blankets, as well as collecting and coordinating the contributions of others. In recent years, while living at St Barnabas Rest Home, Wilma remained very much a part of our church family—held warmly in our hearts and prayers. We give thanks to God for Wilma—for her life, her faith, and her service to others. We remember her kindness, her generosity, and her heart for those in need. May Wilma rest in peace.
