On Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Ross Home and Hospital; aged 72 years.
Dearly loved husband of Kristine, dearly loved father and father-in-law of Anita and Mark (Gladstone, Australia), Andrew and Sara, and Thomas and Mel (Queenstown), loved Poppa/Grandad of Joshua, Dylan, and Alyssa; Sophie, and Hunter; Madyson, and Jack, great-grandad of Aubre, Lilah, and Kiano. Special thanks to the staff of Ross Home and Hospital, and to all of David's carers while he was at home.
A service for David will be held in the East Otago Events Centre, 203 Main Road, Waikouaiti, at 2pm on Thursday, April 24, followed by private cremation.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Parkinson's New Zealand Charitable Trust would be appreciated and may be left at the service, or below. Messages to 21 Dame Street, Waikouaiti, 9510, or below where a livestream of the service may also be viewed.

Our sincerest condolences to Kristine, Anita, Andrew, Thomas and families on David's passing. We have fond memories of camping and boating holidays. Thinking of you all at this sad time, but treasure all those wonderful memories. RIP David xx
David, it was an absolute privilege to be one of your carers at Ross home. You were a friend to everybody and it was a blessing to have you as part of our Ross home family. I do have an apology to make though. For all the times I massaged your eyelids in the morning to help your eyes open. The first image you saw was my face inches away from yours and that must have been horrific! I will miss my morning weather updates from you and your wicked sense of humor. Sincerest thoughts wing your way, Christine. You were a kind companion on the little ferry to and from Ian's wonderful 70th at Queenstown. You have had some sad times , but I wish you now, a time of peace and reflection about all the wonderful times you had together.

So sad to read of David's passing at such a young age and much more life to live. Knowing David from my time as a New Zealand Insurance rep meeting his farming needs in the Waikawa Valley those are great memories of a cheerful guy. Sad to hear of David's passing. We were both ex-Tokanui boys and in the same class at High School, and have sons who are friends. My condolences to the family, but understand he had big struggles as the Parkinsons took away functions. May he rest in peace.
