To Andrew and Louise, So pleased to finally put faces to names, albeit because of the loss of your dear Wallie. Just wanted to say that I nodded to all of these messages. Your father was a dear kind soul, I was fortunate to have met him when your dear mum Eileen died and Wallie came to group. As you can imagine there is a few people that I've met through work who have become stuck in my heart - firmly! Your Dad is one of them. He made me laugh, cry (with him) and everything in between. He loved hard, his family, his friends, nothing was half hearted. I feel so fortunate to have known him. With love, Lisa (Hope and Sons) p.s Sorry I didn't make the service, I wanted to be there but was unwell on the day.
Dear Andrew and Louise, My deepest sympathy on the loss of your delightful Wallie. He certainly will be missed by all of us who were fortunate to have known him. With love. Allison (Alli) Rohan. X
Wallie was an inspiration to all, his dedication to his family, to work, and to all that he did, was never half-hearted. I can still hear him now when we would be doing a soul-breaking dragon boat training session, say "Is that All You've Got!". The peoples lives that "The Waudbys" touched were infected with their beautiful charm, no one will ever forget. And Wallie was always the one looking so dapper, and with the shiniest polished shoes to boot (no pun!). His love of life, and especially to Eileen, was always going to be a deal-breaker, when the first one of them was to go, and unfortunately, with Eileen passing under un-ideal circumstances, Wallie was left to continue on. During this sadder time of Wallies life, we had been still privileged to still see and catch-up with Wallie, and even very recently. Andrew and Louise you have been the amazing support crew for your parents. Well Done! Wallie we hope you can now rejoice, and once again be reunited with, and dance with Eileen for as long as you want, knowing that you'll never be forgotten. RIP our friends. Love and Hugs from David, Janeen, and Family
Love and best wishes wishes to Andrew and family. Wallie will be sorely missed. He had the uncanny ability to photo bomb the McKewen family group photos. Long may his memories and antics last. Mike and Anna
We were very sorry to hear about Wallie. He was one of those rare people who could fill a room without trying, and his presence will be deeply missed. His devotion to Eileen was something everyone noticed and admired. It was steady, genuine, and never needed words to prove it. There is comfort, we hope, in knowing they are together again. Wallie had a way of making every gathering better simply by being there. If there was a party, you could count on him to bring laughter, warmth, and a bit of cheeky humour that stayed with you long after the evening ended. Graham treasured his friendship over many years, and he will feel this loss keenly. So many others will as well. Our thoughts are with you all at this sad time. With love and sympathy, Graham Richardson and Ann Bodkin
Sending love and best wishes to all as you celebrate Wallie's life and hear all the hearts he has touched over the years. We had such grand adventures that always bring back smiles. Dragon boating, lunchtime runs in sun, wind or snow (he always ran between us ladies and the traffic like a body guard!). He led by example and truly cared about those around him. Go well Wallie. I'm sure the angels have the red carpet out. Xx
FOR WALLIE From Ireland's green to New Zealand's shore, you carried a warmth that filled every door, a laugh that could lift the heaviest heart, a mischief that set you always apart. You ran the miles, you paddled the waves, saw the world and seized the days. When others rested, you began again — cap and gown earned, degree in hand. The first to try and the first to give, always showing us how to truly live. Devoted to Eileen, adoring of Andrew, a love so deep in all you'd do. Kind and gentle, funny and bold, a spirit too big to ever grow old. Rest now, Wallie. You've earned your peace. You lived it full, from green to release, with more grand stories than one life should tell — you showed us the way, and you did it well. With much love, Nick Titov and Tribe x
Sending love from Ireland, Wallie always a part of my life, the distant uncle who both he and Eileen would arrive in Ireland with fun, joy, stories and chocolate. Their big trips across the world to us always meant we got to do lots of little trips with them. Visiting some new and some places of memory for them both and are memories of my childhood. A smart, kind, gentle man we will miss you Wallie. I will treasure our last chat on zoom and will fondly remember your mischief and laugh always. Rest well now together with the love of your life Eileen. Sending love to Andrew, Louise, family and friends❤️. No-one is gone until forgotten and we will remember you. Love Nevin and Pauline.
I met Wallie a few years ago. He was such a dapper, fun cheeky man! He loved his films and would always pop into our clinic on his way past when off to a movie or on the way back to give us his overview. I remember when he move into his retirement apartment and how he was anxious yet looking forward to his next chapter. So blessed our paths crossed. May you rest in peace Wallie. Love to all your family during this sad time.
