-- A celebration of Vivienne's life will be held in the Hampden Presbyterian Church, 4 London Street and Chelmsford Street, (State Highway 1), Hampden at 1.00pm on Thursday January 23, the funeral then leaving for Hampden Cemetery. My sincere condolences to you Vanetta, Neil and all the family. I have known and loved Vivienne since we were teenagers, although have not seen much of her since moving North in 1959. In these earlier years Viv and I had fantastic times with her Mum who loved music round the piano, and I later taught her sister Dale music, We enjoyed lovely times in Oamaru in the countryside, swimming, and holidaying together. Viv was a fantastic hairdresser and used to practice on my hair often when she first began her business. She encouraged my Mum to have her hair cut (instead of using ghastly rollers)- and for Mum's next 50 yrs her hair was lovely-partly curly and natural - all thanks to Viv. As a family we kept in touch for many years visiting her in her pottery shed and my children still have some of her lovely pottery. We visited her several times in her lovely new home, her garden and always lovely baking!! She helped me with some family research. Viv obtained the help of a local historian and together we found my great grandparents unmarked graves in Otepopo cemetery. My love and sincere sympathy to you all. I will never forget my beautiful sincere friend for 75 years. Dorothy (Auckland)
Thanks Nana Viv for all the lovely farm memories. and the lovely love for dogs, especially corgies which you bred. And the lovely meals you did for us when we came up. Rest in peace dear Nana. You're with Granddad now, and where you are there is no pain.
We are thinking of our South Island family at this sad time. We remember Aunty Viv with great fondness with time spent on the farm, potting and experiencing farm life. All our love, Uncle Tom and Karen
Sending love and condolences from your northern family at this time. I will always remember staying with my Auntie Viv and family in the holidays at the farm as kids. She was always calm, warm and loving. These are very special memories for me. What a wonderful rich life she lived.
