On May 16, 2025, peacefully at Yvette Williams Retirement Village; in his 95th year.
Much loved husband of the late Margaret for 68 years, dearly loved father and father-in-law of Kim and Michelle, Shane and Fiona, Philippa and Michael. Special grandad of Ruby; Madison, and Charlotte; Libby, and Morgan.
A service to celebrate Tup's life will be held in the John McGlashan College Chapel, 2 Pilkington Street, Maori Hill at 11am on Saturday May 24. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Otago University Rugby Foundation would be appreciated and may be left at the service.

Thinking of all of Tup & the late Margaret's family at this sad time 🙏
Thinking of the whole family as you say goodbye to your much loved father and grandfather. I have such great memories of coming to New Zealand and meeting my cousins, going to the Bach and this lovely man who looked so much like my own Dad and had his mannerisms. I remember him teasing Grandma and giving that little wink to “ the audience” to make sure everyone was on the same page. Nearly 50 years later I still remember that time so clearly. Vale Uncle Tuppy, I hope you are having great conversations with Dad and seeing your beloved Margaret once more. Thinking of you Pip, Shane & Kim at this very difficult time. Love Miranda xo

I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing with and being coached by Tup in the 1st X1. He will be fondly remembered by a whole generation of McGlashan boys. I enjoyed catching up with him in later years whenever we bumped into each other. My condolences to the Diack family.
My loving thoughts are with the family. Tup was a lovely, kind man and was so good to me when I started as a young secretary at John McGlashan College. He and Margaret were very hospitable in their lovely home and I have many fond memories of our times together. RIP lovely man.

Many great memories of time at Gore High School, and catching up at the Gore High School Reunion dinners over the years. Many conversations where we put the sporting world to rights. He will be missed by all. My thoughts are with the Diack family at this sad time. Dame Lois Muir
