GIN, Toy Land - Died peacefully at home on November 25, 2024; in her 97th year. Loved wife of the late Fang Soo, loved mother of Tim adored by her grandchildren, Sabrina and Brad, Richard, Emma, Samuel and Rachael, and Jaydon, and great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Cole, Lily, Lulu and Eden and Theo and loved godmother to Linley and Raymond. - A Celebration of Toy Land's long life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road at 10.30am on Saturday, December 7, then to the Green Park Cemetery. I was one of Lan`s caregivers and it was a privilege to have known her. I read something the other day and i thought it described her so well, (apart from the fact that Lan had remarkably smooth skin!). “ … When bitterness, anger, or resentment are left untransfigured, the face becomes a mask. Yet one also encounters the opposite, namely, the beautiful presence of an old face deeply lined and inscribed by time and experience that has retained a lovely innocence. Even though life may have moved wearily and painfully through such a person, they have still managed not to let it corrode their soul. In such a face a lovely luminosity shines out into the world. It casts a tender light that radiates a sense of holiness and wholesomeness.” It was a blessing to have known her ❤️
To Tim & loved Grandchildren Our deepest sympathy on the passing of Toy Land. I having many good memories of Toy when she and Fang Soo were wonderful neighbours to my Mum in Forbury Road.
