MACLEOD, Stewart David (Stew); 28.01.1949 - 01.10.2025, of Dunedin (MacLeod & Associates NZ Ltd. - Electrical & Mechanical Engineering)
Passed peacefully at Dunedin Hospital, with his family by his side. Stew fought a long, hard fight with humour and determination, as we knew he would.
Cherished husband of Karen, dearly loved Dad and Dad-in-law of Bridget and Andrew Harris, Siobhan and Mathew Cochrane, and Catriona*, wonderful and dearly loved Granddad (Dugga) of Rose Harris, and Alexander Cochrane, beloved brother of Maureen*, John (Jimmy)*, Shirley, Eileen, Sandra, Raymond, Margaret*, and Jude. (*denotes deceased).
A celebration of Stew's life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, Dunedin, at 11:00am on Thursday, October 9, the funeral then leaving for Dunedin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Otago Kidney Society would be appreciated and may be left at the service. Messages to 11 Harcourt Street, Belleknowes, Dunedin 9011, or below where a livestream of the service may also be viewed.

Karen, sorry to hear of Stew's passing. Our thoughts are with you and your Whanau on the sad occassion. We enjoyed it when we met with Stewart at social functions etc. I appreciated all my dealings with Stewart during my working career in construction. Sorry we are unable to attend the funeral. Karen, Bridget, Siobhan and families. I was very saddened to read this in the ODT today, Stew was one of a kind and I am grateful for everything he and Karen did for me as employers. I hope you are all finding peace in his passing knowing he is no longer suffering. All my love Clint Gaby

To all my Macleod cousins and families. I was saddened to read of Stewart’s death. Although I have lost touch over the years with the Macleod branch of my family tree I do have fond and vivid memories of us all growing up in Wakari in the 1940s and 1950s.
