Stephen Timothy (Steve) Haggie

To Alison and Steve's boys I am so truly sorry for your loss. I often worked in the Calder Stewart Dunedin office alongside Steve and enjoyed his character, energy and genuineness. Alison, the way he spoke of you left me in no doubt you were truly loved by him. In recent years I was lucky enough to reconnect with him in the Moana spa pool a number of times, catching up on life and reflecting on the challenges life had thrown us. I feel blessed for this time. Unfortunately, I was unable to make Steve's funeral today but I am sure he was honoured in the way he deserved. Kia kaha, and my deepest sympathy to you all. Sally

To Alison and the Haggie family Our sincere condolences on the passing of Steve and his loss from your world. Steve, was one of life's great gentlemen. Humble, hard working, and always with time for a good conversation and connection. He touched many of us during his time working at Calder Stewart, and was a highly valued member of our Roofing team. Always doing the right thing for our customers, and being a loyal supportive team member. He was liked and respected by all. I personally always looked forward to my catch ups with Steve at the Roofing office, his tails of trout chased, captured and released. His insights into the world. I'm personally better for the opportunity to meet Steve and learn from him. I remember him fondly, and miss our conversations since I moved to Christchurch. Noni and Jim send their condolences, thoughts and prayers to Alison and family during this time of great sadness and loss. We had so enjoyed getting to know Steve better during our Masters trips to Hobart and Fiji , especially enjoying his humour and singing. He will be sadly missed.

To Alison and family. So saddened to hear that Steve has been taken far too early. I was a class mate of Steve's through high school and Steve, Tony Van Horik and a teacher went on a tramping/climbing tour of the West Coast end of 1970. We had a wonderful time and I still have memories of Steve and I sleeping on the shore of Lake Alabaster in the Hollyford Valley rather than in the hut. Steve was a straight shooter and highly respected and I treasure the great chat we had at the class reunion a few years back. Pete Boock

On behalf the Conaboy family I acknowledge the passing of Steve. The Conaboy and Haggie families were good friends and fellow parishioners at St Mary's Mosgiel.I regret I am not able to attend his funeral service on Wednesday.I shall be watching the livestream.

I am so saddened to hear of Steve's death. He was one of lifes straight shooters, 100% dependable, a man you want in your corner! We made a lot of music together over many years, shared many unique experiences, laughed a lot, argued sometimes but always with mutual respect. Steve was, among so many other things, a stalwart of the Dunedin music scene, loved and highly respected by everyone who knew him. Sincere condolences to the family.
