HOLDEN, Shirley June (nee PRYDE) -
On September 26, 2024, slipped away peacefully with family by her side, in Palmerston, at Paramount Healthcare; aged 84 years. Mother and mother-in-law of Marilyn and Keith, Cliff, Shayne and Tracy, Brendon and Tina, and special Nana to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Our deepest sympathy to the family. I met Shirley when she came to Millers Flat and wanted to learn to play Bridge. We also shared an interest in gardening and Shirley created two amazing gardens when she lived in Millers Flat. She was a keen bowler and also looked after her mother, Mavis for many years. She was a busy lady. She was a caring, unselfish, very good friend, and she was fun! She was greatly missed when she left Millers Flat. I think of you often Shirley, Rest in Peace. Our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to you all. Shirley was a good friend who we had so many good times with in Millers Flat along with Bill and Dave, and her dear Mum Mavis, just so much fun. Shirley loved her garden and as I drive passed her old house down by the Minzion I think of all the hard work she did in her lily patch, she would hate to see it now! Although we didn't see a lot of Shirley after she left Millers Flat I think of her often and Frances and I often reminisce of our fun times together. Heartfelt sympathy to all Shirley's family. I'm so sorry to learn of her passing. We played many a winning bowls match together over some years in Millers Flat. Was a time in our lives I treasure, like an extended family at the club. I would hate to have missed it. Shirley was a lovely friend/lady who we missed so much when she moved away and we didn't hear anything of her whereabouts. She loved her gardens and looked after her dear wee mother, Mavis for many years living with her. Hope they play bowls in heaven Shirley. You were a good player.
