I met Sally when I joined City Choir Dunedin in 2012 when my husband and I came to Dunedin on a short term contract with his work. Sally was friendly and welcoming to me as an incomer and our friendship continued after I returned to Auckland. She was charming, delightful and very sweet to me and I am proud to have called her my friend. My condolences to her family. Jane Gee

I am writing on behalf myself, Ian Drysdale, and my wife Bobbi and former wife Catherine, plus those of my family who remember Sally, to register our sorrow at her passing but also to recognise in many respects it was a blessing for her and her immediate and extended family. My late brother, Douglas, who was 10 years older than me, met Sally when she was at Queen Margaret College in Wellington and he was at Scots College. I always regarded Sally as an older sister and valued her as such. They were married and raised their children Megan, Sarah (sadly is no longer with us) and Simon in Dunedin where I frequently visited them during my school and early university holidays and got to know them very well. Megan and Simon went on to have their have their own lovely families who we also know well. Douglas and Sally did not stay together and went on to form very strong new relationships, in Sally's case with Keith Kendall who was one of life's true gentleman. Bobbi and I would visit them in their south Dunedin home on our very occasional visits to Dunedin and we were always made very welcome. Sally willingly inherited a whole new extended family who we also understood willingly accepted her. So both Sally and Keith, and Douglas and Nancy ended up having very fulfilling lives, and I personally am very privileged and pleased to have known Sally Anson/Drysdale/Kendall for 60 odd years. We are very sorry we will not be able to be able to be with you on Saturday but we will be in spirit (and via the video link!) PS Special thanks to you Megan for keeping me so well informed over the final months

Farewell Sally. It was a pleasure to have known you and I shall always remember your generous hospitality, your innate kindness and delightfully reserved sophistication. Our legal careers were to follow different paths as time went on and contact became less frequent but it was always so good to see you happy and content. Lewis and my sons Rupert and Edward join me in sending our sincere condolences to Megan and Simon and the rest of your extended family. God Bless, Judith

Dear Megan. I was so sorry to read of your mother's death. I would like to come to the Memorial Service but am not on facebook and I could be away as we will be up in Palmerston North visiting family in the middle of May. Could I be contacted by email? I would like to meet with you and Simon, if he wishes, at Taste Nature to express my sorrow and to remember some good times. With deepest sympathy to you and your wider family., Liz, Murray and family
