SPARROW, Ruth Elizabeth, of 15 Brownville Crescent, Maori Hill. Peacefully, on October 1, 2024; in her 94th year.
After a wonderful journey with her family. Dearly loved wife of the late Ken and adored Mum of Brendan and Gill, Elizabeth and Glenn. Loved and loving Gran of Ben and Josie, Kate, Matthew and Sara; Cameron and Robyn, Hayden and Megan, Mitchell and Charlotte and Great-Gran of Arlo.
A Celebration of Ruth's life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road and Oxford Street at 2.00pm on Monday, October 7. In lieu of flowers donations for St John Ambulance would be appreciated and may be left at the service or below.

Betty, Catherine, Kelvin and I are sending you all our love. Ruth and Ken were such great pals of my parents, Betty and Frank Lawrence, and they shared many good times together. Ken was my father's best friend as they grew up close by in Dunedin. My mother met Ken before she met Frank, and I remember her saying that when going on a blind date with my father, she was pleased that Ken was coming too as she already knew him. I remember visiting them when they lived in Auckland and then visiting Ruth in Dunedin with my mother. What a kind, wonderful person - always interested in people and the world.
