- Requiem Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Catholic Church, 400 Great King Street, Dunedin, at 10:00am, on Tuesday, March 17, followed by interment at Oamaru Lawn Cemetery, Roxby Street, Oamaru. Messages can be left on Rosalie's page below.

I (Richard) met Rosalie on the Ocean Adventurer expedition ship travelling between Greenland and Baffin Island during a storm in 2018. Only a few brave people ventured to breakfast in the rolling seas and Rosalie was one of them. She entertained me with stories about her travels to the UK on a container ship to begin nursing, which I thought was incredible. I introduced Julie to Rosalie and we have fond memories of sharing the trip through the Northwest Passage with her and it was lovely that we remained in touch in the subsequent years. We only had the pleasure of her company for those couple of weeks but she will be fondly remembered whenever we think of that holiday. We send our condolences to Rosalie's family and friends at this sad time.
My deepest condolences to you Cameron and Family. I had the pleasure of meeting your mum and dad, when we worked together at Cherry Farm Hospital in the late '70s. Rose worked as an RN in Villa 7 {female ward} and Wally in Villa 8 {male ward} and become good friends, especially with your dad, so witnessed the blossoming of their relationship. I again, caught up with them when Rose worked as District Nurse on Stewart Island. They were beautiful people, that made my journey through Cherry Farm, a lot lighter. Dear Cameron and family. Rosalie and I did our nursing training together in Thames. We called her Florrie,(not sure why.), She had a heart of gold and as a class we shared many great times of laughter and fun, creating memories over the three years of our training.No doubt at times she found her 16 and 17 year old fellow nursing classmates frustrating and would often tell us off with a smile and a stern look.Rest peacefully Florrie

Hullo to Rosalies family. So sorry to see her death today. I have often wished I could see her again, as I worked with her in Wanaka, at Airedale Lodge/Elmslie House. But I had no way of contacting her, as her email no longer functioned. I live in Dunedin now, so so sorry I didn't know she was at Ross Home. She was such a live wire, and I remember her telling us about her travels overseas by container ship. My sincere condolences, and fond memories of her will last forever. Judy Dennison
