Robin Agnes Aitken

Dear Wallace and Family, We were sorely grieved by the news of Robin's departure from this life. She contributed so much to St Paul's Cathedral and to the world through her outstanding artistry. We have just watched her Memorial Service online, since we were too unwell to attend it. Our heartfelt condolences, sympathy and love go out to you all at this sad time. Robin and I shared a flat in Edinburgh in our twenties We have been special friends ever since Last year I made my last trip to NZ to spend two glorious weeks with Robin and Wal in Dunedin and Tae Anau Together the three of us had a grande finale and celebrated life love card and friendship Bravo Tobin Bravo Wal !!

Robyn was such a courageous lady who faced her health battles head on and didn’t let them get in the way of what she enjoyed in life. Her passion for gardening bought her to the Dunedin Gardening Club where we welcomed her with open arms. She was infectious with her cheeky little smile and colour and pink ribbon in her hair. She never wanted to miss out on all of our meetings and events and especially our bus trips. In the last couple of years when she couldn’t make it up the bus steps- Wal and Robyn would travel behind the bus in their car to the gardens. Wal- you are also part of our gardening whānau. 🌻 Robyn took over our Club Archive Photograph Albums and we loved her beautifully presented photographs etc. Robyn - you are a Star and one gutsy little lady. Hi Wallace. Jack and I were sad to read the passing of Robin. We will miss having a conversation with her to make a booking at the Motel but hope to see you back soon. A gracious lady who will be missed by all who knew her. Regards Jack and Gillian Cooper

Terry and I were saddened to read of Robins passing. We were neighbours for many years, and really enjoyed seeing Robin in her garden, having the occasional tea and biscuits with Wal and her inside the house, and being amazed by her collection of garments she had made. You will miss her very much Wal but, rest assured, you were a wonderful, kind, caring soulmate taking Robin to as many fixtures as you both could go to. Happy memories Wal. Judy and Terry

Sad to read of Robin's death. She was a long-standing member of the DNTV2 staff working in the Wardrobe area and contributing her skills in so many ways. Probably made the various teddy bears etc on Playschool etc, but in those days there were many period shows requiring specialist skills which Robin had in spades. Condolences to her family and friends.
