Sending sincere condolences to you Joanne and family. The Mundies lived “over the back fence” in our hometown of Lawrence. Great childhood memories made hanging out with the Oliver boys. And collecting the eggs. Dick was always welcome in our home, he became part of the team. He was a good bloke. Cheers Dick Jane Oliver

I was deeply saddened to hear of Richard's passing. I had the absolute pleasure of working with him in our respective roles at AsureQuality. Such a lovely man - I enjoyed working with him very much and am so sad to hear he is gone way too soon. Sending very deepest sympathy to Richard's family.

Thoughts and prayers go out to Richard's Family at this sad time. Such a lovely person right from first meeting him as a 12 yr old at Otago Boys. Many classes and rugby together ,then on thru Otago Uni.And a year together as Housemasters at School House. Thru to meeting up at recent School and Hostel reunions , so easy to re-engage with. Cheerful and talkative . Always remembered ! RIP

Dick Mundie, thanks for the fatherly chats, your empathy and care, the wisdom, the patties and the roof over my head in the weekends, the Speights and the trout in Te Anau. Sorry, for the racket, the vomit, the head through the wall, that random cat that followed us home. Jo, Fraser, Liz and Greer, so sorry for your loss, I will see you soon.

On behalf of the Te Anau Bridge club I would like to pass on our condolences to Jo and family. Richard has been a part of the Bridge club for many years and during that time held positions as an office bearer. His commitment to the club has been much appreciated over the years. His warmth and humour will be sorely missed by us all on a Wednesday night and a Friday afternoon. Janet Ciaffoni

Jo and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Dick was much loved by his vet classmates and we loved catching up with him at reunions. He had such an enjoyable time with us all in Hanmer. That lovely smile and twinkle in his eye will be missed by us and all who knew him I’m sure. Lee Williams ❤️

Saddened to hear of Dick's passing, I was all set to have a great catch up with him at the Te Anau bridge tournament. Thoughts go out to Jo, Greer and Fraser and families. I have been remembering the good times we had at the Vet Club back in the 80s.

Richard, you were a down to earth solid as a rock colleague and a friend to catch up with at Te Anau, with a great sense of humour. And, very proud of your family.

I was very good friends with Dick in high school in the U.S.A., when he lived with the Kampes as an exchange student. Dick's thoughtfulness and his terrific sense of humor were so endearing! He was very popular at our high school, liked by many. I am sorry to his family for their loss.

I had the rare pleasure of working with Richard for roughly twenty years. Richard enriched my working and social life by being a good friend, mentor and colleague. Richard had a common-sense approach to life and that he shared with a unique combination of humour and compassion. He is sorely missed. We were deeply saddened to hear of Dicks sudden passing - from working with him and on our deer farm,sailing together and socially. Dick was always so good natured and happy, great company, and we will miss him heaps. Norma and Russel McDonald Te Anau.
