Rebekah Louise O'Driscoll

I’m so very sorry to hear of the passing and loss of Rebekah. Having attended F45 CBD gym for a number of years, I saw how she was always so consistent, going about her work quietly, with determination and patience. Although our paths hadn’t crossed for a while, she is someone I won’t forget because she always had a calm demeanour, and got on with everyone. My thoughts are with your family during what I can only imagine to be an incredibly sad time. RIP

Many of us at CCS Disability Action, especially in the Early Intervention team, past and present, had the privilege of working with Rebekah, and we were deeply shocked and saddened to hear of her passing. Over the past few days, we’ve shared stories and memories — especially about how, on first meeting her, we were all a little intimidated. But as we got to know Rebekah, we quickly realised that what we’d mistaken for sternness was really just her “thinking face.” Rebekah was incredible with the children and families she worked with. Her compassion, dedication, and sense of humour made a lasting impact on everyone around her. She will be missed greatly — both professionally and personally. Ngā mihi aroha

💖 A Tribute to a Beautiful Soul Watching the service from my home in Australia I remember a truly remarkable person. I had the privilege of knowing her during our days at St Hilda's. While our paths diverged after high school, the memories I have of her remain wonderfully dear. She was someone who genuinely stood out: She always spoke her truth with a lovely blend of candour and consideration. You always knew where you stood, and that was a gift. She possessed a wonderful down-to-earth strength and an inherent loving nature with a vibrant presence. She was a person I truly liked and admired. She leaves behind a legacy of integrity, warmth, and grace. My deepest sympathies go out to her family and all those who loved her. May the memories of her bright, loving spirit bring some comfort during this painful time. Rest in peace.

I met Rebecca in 2001 when I came to work at the Vera Hayward Centre as a Speech-language Therapist. Her mum Gillain was also working there then. Over the years our wee team has become our work family, we heard stories of Rebekah's family over the years - Ed's eating, work and travels, Sophie and her school balls and crystals. The time Paul put the wrong fuel in his truck and also Rebekah finding hiding places for chocolate at home, which she was really good at! Rebekah was a great baker and when it was her turn to bring morning tea we always knew something yummy was going to be on the table. She loved her job, the children and families she worked with and was a strong advocate for all of them. She also had a great antenna for figuring out what was going on even when it was supposed to be a secret! We will all miss her sense of humour and her ability to do the best elf on the shelf poses. Rebekah absence is felt in the OT office and in our staffroom and our Vera Hayward Centre space, she will never be forgotten Aroha nui Michelle

Rebekah will be deeply missed by all your colleagues and MOE colleagues. I had the privilege of working with Rebekah with several children we supported together. Rebekah's courage in having the hard conversations and your unwavering advocacy for the children you supported was truly inspiring. Rebekah was my daughters OT for a few years up until earlier this year. My daughter loved these sessions as she could be unapologetically herself. Rebekah was one of the only professionals who really advocated for my girl and I am so appreciative for this - she wouldn't be where she is without Rebekah. My heart goes out to Rebekah's family during this incredibly tough time xx
