On August 12, 2025, at the Otago Community Hospice, surrounded by his loving family; 76 years young. Dearly loved husband and soul mate of the late Verena, loved and loving Dad of Penny and Greg Easton, Sarah, Chris and Ria, AJ and Stef, adored and proud Grandad Pete (GDP) to Harry, Joe, and Benji; Cooper, and Alfie; and Teddy, loved youngest son of the late Albert and Mavis. Loved little brother and brother-in-law of Paula* and Leith* Turner, Phil* and Clarice*, Bob* and Win*, Keith* and Helen, Glenda and Jim Butler, loved uncle to his nieces and nephews and friend to many. (*denotes deceased)
A service to celebrate Pete's life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, at 11am, on Monday August 18, followed by private cremation. Messages to 27 Passmore Crescent, Maori Hill 9010, or below.

Taken away from us too early. Lots of memories from his dentistry (best dentist in Dunedin) and in running circles. A real shame I didnt see him over the past 5 years. Rest in peace my true friend!
To Penny, Sarah, Chris, Andrew, & families My heartfelt sympathy to you all on the passing of your dear father, Peter. I remember both Peter and your mother, Verena, from their faithful involvement at Andersons Bay Presbyterian Church. They were a devoted couple whose faith and kindness touched many. Penny, Sarah, Chris, Andrew and your loved ones - thinking of all you today as you farewell your much loved, and one of a kind Dad. I have great memories of my time working at the Westpac Trust Dental surgery in the late 90s. Peter and Verena both showed my family and I extraordinary kindness, and were the best bosses in every way. I learned so much from them about family, hard work, and life in general. To Pete’s family, I was saddened to hear of his recent illness and passing, and offer my sincerest condolences to a loving family. He was my dentist for many years, and also to my family and some of the grandchildren, that is three generations. He was always friendly and professional and the perfect gentleman. I know he had a wide involvement with other sporting groups, running and hockey, and a wide circle of friends. Peter will be sadly missed and my thoughts are with the family at this time. I felt very privileged to have had the guidance of Pete over the last two years as he helped out our hockey team in Cromwell and personally as we both battled the big C. Flu high Pete, I can’t wait to use the amazing skills you drilled into us all xxx
Farewell for now to a wonderful human. You were a special Uncle and will be missed. Always fun and up for anything. You lived life to the full and have left a wonderful legacy in your children and grandchildren. I am sad that I couldn't farewell you in person but was watching from afar. Rest in peace.

So sad to hear of Pete’s passing. Such a smiley, friendly, kind man. Many fond memories of working at the Dental Practice in the Octagon in the early 80’s. Such a great dental team - Ed and Beryl, Pete and Glenys and me. I was Ed Bonney’s dental assistant, loved working there. We live in Clyde and it was always nice to see Pete around. Pete aka GDP or D3, was one of the best humans there was. He radiated fun and positive energy, and had the most unmistakable belly laugh. From fish'n'chip Thursdays, to Saturdays at the turf watching him play or coach, I have nothing but the fondest memories of Pete. He raised some absolute beauties in Penny, Sezzie, Chusso and AJ, and it brings great comfort to know you are reunited with the wonderful Verena. Fly high, D3 xx
