On July 30, 2026, at Dunedin Hospital; aged 92 years. Dearly loved and loving sister of Joan, beloved daughter of Iris* and Albert*, and a dear best friend of Win for 87 years (*denotes deceased). A very gentle lady who suffered stoically in her recent illness. Grateful thanks to all the RDNS support workers who cared for Nylda in recent times with such kindness.
A service for Nylda will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, Dunedin, at 2pm on Thursday, August 6. The funeral then leaving for Andersons Bay Cemetery. Nylda was an active supporter and committee member of the Dunedin Dahlia Circle for many many years, almost, I believe from its inception. Together with Win they meticulously organised many successful Circle Lunches. She was always supportive of any of the circle activities. A thoughtful and gracious lady. Rest easy. Joan and the Gooseman family. It is very saddening to hear of the passing of the lovely and wonderful Nylda. She was a quiet and gracious lady whose life reflected kindness, humility, and faith. She never sought recognition but faithfully served God and our church family in her role of accurately recording meeting minutes with her shorthand skills. Nylda, you were blessed with 92 years, and I'm sure during those years you have touched many lives, often in quiet and unnoticed ways. Nylda, your gentle spirit, warm smile, and faithful service will remain in our hearts. I know for sure you're going to be with the Lord you loved and served so faithfully. Goodbye dear Nylda. Though you no longer with us, you will never be forgotten. You will live on in our hearts and in the precious memories we shared. Dear Joan, so sorry to read of Nylda’s passing, I worked with her at Perpetual Trustees, and was part of the Perpetual girl’s Christmas meal out, last time I saw Nylda was 2019, when I moved away from Dunedin. I am proud to have known her, and will watch the live stream on Thursday. Lesley Rae

Nylda was a great friend for many years. We lost touch some time back. She was a member of Dunedin Camera Club and Secretary for many years. Her approach to photography gave all our members something to enjoy, and for some, to aspire to. Rest in peace now Nylda, you have had a great and interesting life.
