SIMPSON, Noela Frances (nee Grindley) - On Tuesday July 16, 2024, peacefully in her sleep at Rita Angus Retirement Village in Kilbirnie, Wellington; aged 92 years.
Long time Dunedin resident, primary school teacher, and singer (Dunedin Opera Company/Opera Otago).
Dearly loved wife of the late Robert (Bob) Simpson, loved mother and mother-in-law of Nicholas, Anthony, Emma, and Iku, and grandmother of May, Oliver, Evie, and Pearl.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Noela's life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, at 11.00 am on Friday August 2nd. In lieu of flowers, we would suggest a donation to the Alzheimer's Society (https://alzheimers.org.nz/) or a charity you feel Noela would appreciate.

Nick and Ant, I am so sad to hear of the passing of your lovely mum. I have very fond memories of Mrs Simpson from Fairfield School and was often in the school choir under her guidance - I especially remember only four of us being chosen out of our S3 class and feeling really special - Karyn MacLennan, Aaron Cowan you (Nick) and me. I really enjoyed any time we had her as a teacher (probably because I loved singing and playing the recorder or piano). Wishing you both much love at this sad time.
