On June 4, 2026, peacefully surrounded by her loving family; at the incredible age of 93 years.
Dearly loved wife of the late Hati (Puka), much loved Mum and mother-in-law of Cliff, Poko and Moko Mareko, Mama and Port Tangimetua, Andy and Luche, loved Nana of Dom and Rachel, Danica and Darragh; Alex, Korena, Punua and Micky, and Kura and Jen, loved Vouvou of all her great grandchildren and great great grandchild.
A family service for Mata will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, at 5pm on Tuesday, June 9. The funeral service for Mata will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, at 11am on Wednesday, June 10, the funeral then leaving for the Green Park Cemetery. Our deepest condolences to your family. Your Nana was one of our fond memories living in North East Valley. From when I was a highschool student to when my children were at Sacred Heart. She always said hello and always had a smile on her face. What a special lady to have such a loving family and how lucky are we to have had her grace our lives all these years. Rest in love x
