Peacefully, on October 4, 2025, at St Andrews Home and Hospital, Cedars Unit; in her 99th year.
Dearly loved wife of the late Ian, loved Mum and mother-in-law of Stephen (Chad) and Lyn, Gerald and Wendy, Brenda and Les Bell, loved Grandma of Daniel and Erin, Richard and Rachel; Jason and Tammy, Rodney and Catherine; Philippa and Jay, and Kimberley, and loved Great-Gran. Peggy's family wish to offer a big thank you to all the staff of Cedars Unit, St Andrews Home and and Hospital for their wonderful care.
A celebration of Peggy's life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, Dunedin, at 2pm on Friday, October 10, followed by private cremation. Messages to B. Bell, 19 Lambert Street, Abbotsford, Dunedin 9018 or below where a livestream of the service may also be viewed.

My sincere condolences to all of Peggy's family. Peggy brought much joy and laughter to the Cedars unit. She was loved by all in the unit. Her quick wit often had us in fits of laughter. Her huge personality was much bigger than her small stature. I am so glad that Peggy came to live in the Cedars unit because I got to have the privilege of knowing her. We had so much fun with our banter. I have many memories of Peggy printed on my heart forever. We will miss Peggy hugely. My thoughts are with all of Peggy's family at this time. To the Family of Peggie, I’m so deeply sorry to hear about your loss. While she was at St Andrew, we shared so many memories that I will always cherish. She truly became like family to me. Thank you for encouraging me and speaking such caring words during my pregnancy it meant more than I can say. Thank you also for listening all my stories when I was down. We shared so many laughs and jokes together laughter until our tummy ached and those joyful moments will forever stay in my heart. It’s heartbreaking to know you are gone, but I believe you are in a better, peaceful place now. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
