Dearly loved wife and soul mate of Michael, adored mother and mother-in-law of Hayden and Pip, Ashley and Laura, Kieran and Ebony, loved daughter of Josie and Basil* Thompson, loved daughter-in-law of Kaye and Winston*, cherished sister and sister-in-law of Leonie and Greg, Christine, Jan and David, Paula and Darren, Rodger and Corrine, James, Darryl and Rhiannon*, Tracey, Tony* and Sandra, treasured 'Nanny' of Harry, Oliver, George, Shane, Mia, Ryan, James, and Ruby, devoted aunty to all her nieces and nephews, and a special friend to all who met her (*denotes deceased).
A celebration of Lynn's life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, Dunedin, at 2pm on Saturday, October 18, followed by private cremation. In honour of her vibrancy we welcome you to wear bright and colourful clothing. In lieu of flowers any donations to Bellyful Dunedin and/or Otago Community Hospice would be appreciated and may be left at the service.

Dear family of Mrs Lynn Wingfield. I was taught by Lynn around 12 years ago at Waimataitai School in Timaru. She was an inspiring teacher, and I appreciated the stories she would tell of her travels. She shared the song ‘I Lived’ by One Republic with my class which I remember clearly and still love to this day. I was lucky enough to reunite with Lynn around a year ago at Les Mills gym while I was studying in Dunedin. I looked forward to chatting to her during our weekly exercise classes. She was always so proud talking about her family. Sending love to you all. Take care.

Lynn, you were sucha beautiful soul that inspired me to live life to the fullest. Seeing your love for your family brought joy to many with your regular updates. You used to stop and watch our boys play football even though you were there to watch your own grandsons too. Thank you for your friendship and kindness. I won't ever forget it. Lynette was such a vibrant lady & positive person. I remember her always being around the swimming pool with fond reminisce. She loved supporting all of us & welcoming kids into her home. Thank you for letting me stream such a beautiful service for a beautiful lady. When I thought of Lynette I immediately remembered both her smile & brilliant wardrobe - the shoes & lipstick!
