To Robyn, Stephen and families. Please accept our sincere sympathies on your Dad’s passing. Lindsay was a personable, kind, considerate and helpful man. He seemed to be often doing things to help others but reluctant to ask for anything in return. He obviously loved you all dearly and was always interested and proud of what you and the grand children did and achieved. He was a happy and positive man and we are saddened by his passing. Our love and kind thoughts to you all. Noeleen, Russell and family.

Dear Hepburn family, I got to know Lindsay during the eighteen years he was a member of Dunedin Rotary. He was the ultimate Rotarian, our Trusts Administrator for ten years, organizer of the Firewood Project for nine years and a keen participant in all our projects – building tracks at Orokonui, distributing citrus, planting to enhance the city and fundraising. Rotary gave him two Paul Harris Fellowships. A good, generous man. My sympathy to you all.

Dear Hepburn family, I worked alongside Lindsay for about 30 years and can say that he was one of the most dedicated, competent and professional colleagues I have known. In addition, he was a thoroughly caring, nice person within himself. I know he had a great love of family. At the time we both took early retirement he told me he would much rather stay in Dunedin to be near his family than to move away and continue his career. I feel privileged to have known and worked with him. I am greatly saddened at his passing and am glad I was able to catch up with him to discuss old times about 6 months ago. Dave Jensen

Robyn, Stephen and families. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy on the loss of a father; father-in-law and grandfather. I first met Lindsay when he moved from Hastings with his family to join Public Trust in Dunedin. We soon struck a chord with our mutual love of sport. Lindsay joined the President’s grade cricket team I played for and we spent many summers playing the game we loved. In winter we spent many days watching club rugby, sometimes at two different grounds on one day. Lindsay and Beverley became close and loyal friends and were a huge part of helping me through dark times when my first marriage ended. Although I moved to Christchurch some years ago I kept up contact with Lindsay. Lindsay, I valued you highly as a friend, respected you as a work colleague and admired you as a husband and father. Lindsay was our treasured across the road neighbour for the past 4.5 years on Mulford Street. A very kind and thoughtful man and stalwart of the street, he and I had great chats while gardening/ greeting Otis and he was a great help at the Concord clean up days I organised. Always quietly helping all the neighbours with weeding, lawns and even dropping a young neighbour to school to help her grandmother out while injured. It's very sad to see your windows closed and house dark Lindsay. Thanks for being so friendly and having a laugh with our rambunctious little boys. You will be greatly missed by all! The Neighbours all want to share a drink in your honour but don't worry there won't be any fuss! 😊🩷 Annalise, David Alex and Baby Charlie Bainbridge xo

I have known Lindsay for over 50 years from my Public Trust days in Dunedin followed by the Dunedin Rotary club where he was 110% committed just like his senior role at the Public Trust. Lindsay would not have known it but I learnt from him so many life and work skills which I continue to practice today. Neville Caird.
