So sorry to hear of Kim’s passing. Such a lovely person so sad that she had to endure the horrible C. Good memories of her. Rest in peace.

Kim, I love the way you sing, your voice is strong and sweet, I love your wit, your cheeky tricks, your sense of humor no small feat. I love the way you laugh and your smiling eyes I love your courage and self belief, to any challenge you would rise. You love your family, your sons, sisters, brothers, We love you dearly, our friend, sister, mother You are so generous, kind hearted, headstrong You are our colour, our light, our warmth, our song. I see you with your husband, two souls who came together, I see the immense love you share, he will carry you forever. I love that you are so honest, unflinchingly so, If it's not just or fair, you don't mind stepping on toes. We love the way you know us, all the people you hold near, You encourage all your loved ones, uplift us and cheer, You want the very best for us and know we can see it through, You brought us all together and your love is in this room. Your love will never leave us, it's a gift we can never lose, On dark days when we miss you, it's a light that we can use We can remember everything we love, all the pieces of who you are, In the sharing of our memories, you will never be too far. Your image will burn brightly and your light will never dim, Because we will always love you, our one and only Kim.

I just watched Kim's service and it was a wonderful tribute to Kim. Surprised though that no-one mentioned what a fantastic Scrabble player she was. We had many games and Kim was one of the toughest opponents I've faced. Had she played a few tournaments I believe she would have been ranked as one of the country's best players. As it was Kim only played 1 tournament and is recorded in NZ Scrabble as having won 86% of her games, which is higher than any current player. Kim and Bruce often hosted me when I came to Dunedin to play, and her hospitality was on the same level as her Scrabble game. Thanks Kim, and condolences to Bruce and the whanau.

My darling sister from another mother. Thank you for searching me out and allowing me to become part of your life. It has been a wild ride over the past 5 yrs for both of us which I have loved. I will miss your love, singing, humor and our chats online. My love, hugs and thoughts go to Bruce, Kyle, Zane and family. Fly high and be at peace free of pain. Love ❤️

My darling friend. I missed you! By a couple of weeks...but it may as well have been a lifetime...Your lifetime!💔 I can't count the years we spent growing up (because we never did!), the number of times you made me laugh, moved me with your beautiful voice, wowed me with your latest song (one of which I got to hear at the end of June which said something about "I should have been famous!.." and I totally agree. You are that talented, Lady!) and shared your life with me! I believe our friendship didn't need to be constantly fueled. It simmered away without fuss or attention until we would see each other, phone each other, text each other again, and ignite into bubbling, gurgling, giggling lunacy.... I never imagined life without it! So I won't! You will live on in my every day, my music, my heart and my memory of all things golden and good. I will listen for you in the harmonies 🎵🎶❤️

I was so sad to read this death notice today. I met Kim back in 2007. A real salt of the earth lady who took me under her wing and looked after me. I was so grateful for her presence. A sad loss; Kim you are so missed.

Kim you came into my life many years ago through the Cancer Soc and we shared many lovely times together. You were a fabulous kind caring lady with a great sense of humour which you still had even at our last lunch together with others 3 weeks ago. Bruce your kindness and caring of Kim was amazing. To all the family especially Kyle Zane & Bruce please accept my condolences. Her memories will stay on .

Kim was one of those people that you’d be likely to meet outside a cafe, strike up a conversation and feel like you’d made a friend… and that’s exactly what happened to us! We admired her fierce intelligence, her not suffering fools but talking to them anyway and the way she loved and lived life!
