Kathleen Vera (Kathy) Paulo

I met Kathy when she done home based childcare in Stenhope Cres she cared for my son Christopher (Chris) and was absolutely amazing and she would take him to Stenhope pre-school she was so loving and caring and later when I had Olivia and had a breakdown ended up in hospital Kathy cared for both Christopher and Olivia through the day and it was wonderful and reassuring knowing that they would get the same care that I would have given them. Kathy was so lovely and caring and just made you feel like part of the extended family. Then I became friends with Kathy on Facebook when I joined it. Last year my mother went into resthome care but ended being transferred to St Andrews for her safety which was difficult as I never knew any of the staff there but when I went back in the afternoon I saw Kathy and she embraced me with the most wonderful hug and I have never felt so pleased and reassured to see Kathy was there and Kathy went out of her way to care for Mum who was in a different part to the part Kathy was in as she knew how much it meant. Kathy was one of lifes finest treasures, more precious that the finest of jewels with a heart of pure gold she was so beautiful inside and out and I'm glad I had the privilege of knowing her and she will always have a special place in my heart. Fly free darling and I know that you will always walk beside your beautiful family and watch over them from above.

The best neighbours anyone could ask for. Kathy was always smiling and positive. It was a pleasure to have known you and to have had you grace our lives. Our hearts are breaking for you all, such a tight loving family...So sorry for your loss Paulo family, from Sheryl, Nathan and Kea.

Some friendships are written in the stars, meant to last a lifetime, and my friendship with Kathleen was one of those. From the moment we met at school, we were inseparable—not just best friends, but kindred spirits. And in a way, it always felt like we were connected even deeper because her name, Kathleen, was also my middle name. It felt like a little sign that we were meant to be in each other’s lives. One of my fondest memories of Kathleen was her birthday parties. They were legendary, filled with laughter, fun, and the most incredible cakes, thanks to her mum—who was the best baker ever. Those moments were pure joy, and I will always treasure them. We also shared a love for music—especially the Bay City Rollers. She absolutely adored Woody, but she also had a soft spot for Leif Garrett. We would sing along, dance, and dream about meeting our favorite stars, lost in the magic of music and friendship. Kathleen had a heart full of warmth, kindness, and laughter. She made the world a brighter place just by being in it. Losing her is incredibly hard, but I take comfort in knowing that the love we shared and the memories we created will never fade. Whenever I hear our favorite songs or think of her name—our name—I will remember her with a smile. Rest peacefully, my dear Kathleen. You will always be a part of me.
