MURPHY, Kathleen Grace (Kathy, nee Pyle), formerly of North East Valley
On July 7, 2026, peacefully, at Dunedin Hospital, surrounded by her loving family; aged 78 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Phil, much loved Mum and mother-in-law of Karen and Steven, Heather and Brendan, Theresa and Matthew, Sarah and Dean, and the late Stephen. Treasured Grandma of Emily; Isaac, and Sophie; Joshua, and Nina. Dearly loved daughter of the late Rupert and Bernice Pyle, loved sister, sister-in-law, and aunt to her extended family.
Special thanks to the staff at Leslie Groves Rest Home and Dunedin Hospital, Ward 8 for the care and support.
A service to celebrate Kathy's life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road at 11am on Monday July 13, followed by private cremation.

Sending all my love to the Kathy's family. Kathy was a wonderful Mum and friend to more than just her family. I loved the time I got to spend with her and Phil, our drive to Westport from Dunedin was a treasure, we had such good chats! She and Phil were always welcoming to all that came to their home, the door was always open and I enjoyed popping in for a cuppa when I was in Dunedin. Kathy had a dry sense of humour that really sparkled at times. We are all lucky to have had time with Kathy and Phil and we will all miss their kindness and calm.
So sorry to hear of your Mother's passing, sorry I can't attend the funeral service today, as my health is not the best, I will always remember the good days of our families living at the Lookout Point Fire Station and the good times we had together, rest in peace Kathy Barbara & Allan Bridgman
To all the Murphy family we extend our condolences. Family was everything to Kathy. She was a woman with a big heart. Treasure the memories of the times you shared. Mothers live on in our hearts. Unfortunately due to several pre arranged appointments we are unable to make the funeral but will be thinking of you all.
