On August 13, 2024, at Birchleigh Hospital, Mosgiel; aged 84 years. Dearly loved husband of Jan, loved father and father-in-law of Shane and Jo, Kerry, Paul and Bex, loved Pop to Christian, and Marcus; Tayla, and Mason, beloved brother and brother-in-law of Rona and Allan Wright; Lavinia and Cliff Livingstone and loved uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the staff at the Braeside Unit, Birchleigh for all their care and support.
A service for John will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, Dunedin at 11am on Tuesday August 20, followed by private cremation. Messages can be left on John's page below, where there is a link to the service

Jan, Shane, Kerry and Paul we are all thinking of you and know you’ve lost a wonderful man. But you also got to enjoy a terrific life lived by one of the kindest and most generous souls. A true gentleman and that’s how I will remember him.
Jan, Kerry and family, I was sorry to read of John’s passing. Although I didn’t know John until his admission to Braeside, I enjoyed sharing memories with him when I visited Bryan. We were saddened to learn of John's passing after a lengthy illness. He will be remembered for his jovial outlook on Life in his younger days and we have nice Memories of our Association with him in the earlier years. You have earned your Peace now, and as you move to your next Life, may it be rich and fulfilling. Dear Jan Kerry and family My heartfelt condolences to you all. Was so sad to see John passed away. I will miss him and his great sense of humor which I was often greeted with on arrival to see Pete. As hard as it is dear lord..... a blessing as we have spoke about. He is now in a better place. 💞💞
