Peacefully, at St Andrews Home and Hospital on the evening of May 6, 2026, after a courageous battle.
Beloved wife and seafarer of John, dearly loved mum and mother-in-law of Tina and Gen (Sydney), Paula and partner Dave, and Sarah, loved 'Ga' of Hugo, and Lia (Sydney); and Johnny, Josh, and Jacob. Cherished daughter of Lilian* and Aubrey* Clarke, loved sister and sister-in-law of Susan*, Peter and Maree Clarke, and sister-in-law of Tom and Sue Whiting (UK), (*denotes deceased).
Thank you to all the wonderful people who cared for Jill, St John Ambulance team, staff at Dunedin Hospital and finally carers at St Andrews.
-- A private family funeral will be held.

I was so sad to learn that you had lost Jill a dearly loved wife, mother and grandmother. You entrusted Tina to live with us for a few weeks while you joined John on a trip all those years ago and I am so pleased our two daughters are still friends. John and your family will miss you so much. Rest in peace Jill. The Whitehead family.
