Dearly loved wife of Lee, loved Mum and mother-in-law of Shay and Karin (Sweden), Ryan and Nikki (Auckland), loved Farmor of Matteo, and Bianca (Sweden), loved sister and sister-in-law of Deborah and Calley (Queensland), Noel*, and Gary*, and a loved Auntie of many (*denotes deceased).
A service for Janelle will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, Dunedin, at 2pm on Tuesday, August 25, followed by private cremation. Messages to Janelle's page below where there is a link to view the service.

Dear Lee, Shay, Ryan, and families. Nick and I are so very sorry to hear about your loss. Many, many happy memories of our days together with the Dodgers family. Visits to Dale Street for meetings and social gatherings were always fun. Janelle's cheeky sense of humour, love of sport, and love for her family, are foremost in my mind as I remember her. We are sorry we were unable to attend her Service today, but know that you will have given her a beautiful sendoff. Sending heartfelt sympathy and love to you all.

My beautiful Aunty Janelle 🤍 It’s hard to put into words what it means to lose you. Even though we lived on two separate sides of the Tasman Sea, you always found a way to make me feel close to you. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of the times you would come over to Australia and we’d go on family holidays together. I’ll always remember the little things too, like the books you would send me for my birthday every year growing up. I’ll never forget one of them being Captain Underpants 😂lol. And without fail, every year on my birthday, my phone would light up with a message from you, always signed off, “From Aunty Janelle and Uncle Lee.” It was something I could always count on, and I don’t think I realised just how special that was until now. Thank you for loving me, remembering me, and being such a beautiful part of my childhood and my life. I’ll treasure those memories forever. Give Uncle Gary, Uncle Noel and Nanny Molly the biggest hug from me please. Rest peacefully, Aunty Janelle. You will be deeply missed and forever loved. 🕊️🤍

Dear Lee and whanau, my heart is incredibly heavy hearing of Janelle's passing. I had the privilege of working with her at CARM in the early 2000's. Her cheeky humour and laughter always filled the office. She left a lasting impression on myself and my younger siblings, who would visit me in the office. Sending you my prayers and strength. I'm sorry I didn't visit Dunedin often enough to visit. Thank you Janelle for supporting me at work and showing me how to be a fierce wahine in the workplace - you demonstrated what it was to be a strong woman in the workplace and to stand by your convictions. I was very lucky to have Janelle as big part of my childhood. Along with Lee she taught me a lot more than the fundamentals of softball. Those lessons helped shaped me and will always stay with me. I have so many happy memories of Dale Street, Ellis Park and softball diamonds across the the South Island. The bumps along the rode (being stuck in Winchester, the 'tummy bug' on he way back from Oamaru) were never a problem and all part of the fun.
