We only found out today that Jim had passed away when Craig phoned. We enjoyed his company and his quick wit. Jim will be sorely missed by everyone who had the pleasure of his company. To Lynda and family we are sending you our heartfelt condolences.

Jim, I was there with Lynda in A&E and just thought, you're such a tough guy, you're in the best place to get you sorted and never once did I think you were not going to be back in house at Sawyers Bay with Lynda at your side having a drink and a laugh. I so enjoyed every chat we had, talking Ireland and laughs galore and me leaving with sore face cheeks. Thru those pearly gates I hope you are up there smashing some golf balls around, keep on top of ya game fella haha. We'll all miss you and I will keep an eye on your beloved Lynda. May the light of heaven shine upon your soul, may the peace of God surround you and make you whole. May the grace of Christ be with you now and always. May you rest in peace forever and ever.

We were saddened to read about Jim and would like to pass on our deepest sympathy to all his family. We have great memories of times spent with the Smiths specially Friday night meals with lots of fun and laughter and the next week at our place. We met because our daughter and Kelly went to school together and became close friends and I ended up with a second daughter. We missed you all when we shifted away from Green Island. With deepest sorrow Alan and Jeannie.

Brother Jim. Still in a bit of shock with your rather early exit, I was looking forward to catching up with you in October, sitting down telling some lies and listening to some of your stories. I am going to miss you, well me and many others. You are highly thought of by those who you touched, you will be missed by those who loved you, and there are many Thanks for all the things you did for mum (The Old Tart) and for your love and caring of Lynda. I think Golf not Rugby could be the game they play in heaven, if so, I hope you are up there knocking the dots the balls and sitting back with a brandy. Love Craig

Dear Jim, it was a shock to hear that you have passed away. It's very sad too. As your neighbours, we didn't see you often but we always enjoyed the little chats with you. Rest in peace. You will be missed and not forgotten. Our condolences to Lynda and family.
