On September 19, 2026, peacefully at Marne Street Hospital, with family by her side; aged 88 years. Dearly loved and cherished wife for 65 years of Willie (Bill), much loved mother and mother-in-law of Paul and Rose, David and Paula, Trudy and Andy Syme. Loving Gran to Millie, Georgia, Jackie, and Bradley; Caitlin, the late Jacob, Emily, and Charlotte; Ewan, Hannah, and Jody and great gran to Bonnie. Special thanks to the staff of Marne Street Hospital and Leslie Groves Rest Home for all their loving care and support. - A service for Isobel will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, Dunedin at 2pm on Friday, September 25, followed by private cremation. Oh Willie I am so sad to hear you have lost your partner in crime. It was an absolute treasure to see you two interact in humour and respect. Isobel was a caring compassionate lady with a wicked sense of humour that would keep us in fits of laughter. She was kind and generous, always had a story to tell with a gleam in her eye and a laugh that was contagious. She will be deeply missed. My thoughts are with you and all her loved her.
