It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our dear wee Mum on October 6, 2024 at Marne Street Hospital; aged 81 years.
Dearly loved wife and sweetheart of the late Brian, much loved and loving Mum of Anne, Margie, and Richard, fun loving Nana and Great-Nana of Marcus, Caleb, Taya, and Brooklyn; Gena, Simon, Tiana, and Nicholas; Trieste, Stephen, Kyson, Logan, and Nickson; Benjamin*, Morgan, and Isabella. Loved by Craig, and Dave.
Dearly loved daughter of Harold* and Lottie* Clarkson, and Ethel* Clarkson. Darling sister and best friend of Pammie*. Much loved daughter-in-law of Joseph* and Phyllis* Powell. A loved sister-in-law and auntie of her extended family. (*denotes deceased)
Heartfelt respect and gratitude to all the staff at Marne Street Hospital for their love and care of our Mum over the last five years.
We didn't want to let you go Mum, no more pain and suffering, free to fly little Helen bird. We love you and miss you our wee darling.
"We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when, but I know we'll meet again some sunny day".
-- A service for Helen will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road at 10am on Saturday, October 12, the funeral then leaving for Green Park Cemetery. Messages can be left on Helen's page below where you will also find a link to livestream the service.

I will never forget having the privilege of knowing Helen all those years ago , we were neighbours. Helen was a kind funny and displayed such a nurchuring nature, Helen never missed my special occasion or any member of our families birthday's either for that matter. She adored her Brian and cherished her family and always keep me updated on events and she spoke so highly of her kids and grandkids. Helen had a sense of humour and loved a laugh. I will forever cherish the memory of our last great hurrah. I took Helen out in the wheelchair, we were only supposed to go for a short walk around the inlet but instead we snuck off to the dairy. I told Helen we might get in trouble for it but she said it would be "our little secret". Being on a time limit I was pushing Helen as fast as I could in the chair with a bit of struggle as the terrain was not friendly for our old hospital wheel chair. Helen laughed at my struggles, we definelty looked like an odd pair ! Finally after reaching the dairy we checked her lotto ticket and had a browse around, she was insistent on buying margie a card with yellow daffodils as it was not long past daffodil day. We found one, they were yellow flowers, not quite daffodils but I didn't have the heart to tell her. Pleased with her purchase we hurried back home, Helen clinging onto the sides of the wheelchair, I don't think she trusted my driving. We promised eachother not to tell anyone in case we got in trouble. It was "our little secret" and one of my favourite memories. Rest in peace Helen Xxx

To Richard and family sorry to read about Helen's death. Helen was a lovely lady and it was great knowing her. I got to know Helen through church and Mum (Sue) had a good friendship with Helen and they would go to each others places and chat. May you all treasure the wonderful memories you have of a Mum and Grandmother.
