WHIPP, Glenis Joan (nee Cleveland) - 12/06/1943 - 16/10/2024
Glenis has lovingly departed this world. She was the cherished daughter of the late Arthur and Eula Cleveland, a devoted sister to Lynette Reid, and a nurturing mother to Aaron, and Shawn Whipp, and Trina Penita. She also embraced her role as mother-in-law to Hayley Whipp.
Glenis held all her grandchildren extremely close to her heart and was so proud to be a great-grandmother.
Her sister friendship with Jennifer Box brought her much joy and support.
We warmly invite friends and family to join us for a heartfelt service to honour Glenis' life and to celebrate the love and light she brought to our lives.
The service will be held in St Leonard's Hall at 11.00am. on Saturday October 26, followed by private cremation. - Messages may be left below.

I am remembering with a smile, wonderfully happy family gatherings of the "Binning" cousins. Fantastic holidays with Aunty Eula and Uncle Arthur in Dunedin and a strong friendship with my cousins Glenis and Lynette. As the years passed and we grew, seeing our children connect was great. While old age has kept us apart in recent years, I haven't forgotten our fabulous times together. Rest easy my dear cousin, and love to Aaron, Shawn and Trina. Thoughts are with you as you farewell your wonderful mother and grandmother Glenis. Glenis had a deep care and affinity with young children in their educational learning and care. Our St Leonards community was so fortunate to have Glenis and her commitment to Girls Brigade, and also for the early childhood education of children. May she rest in peace for a life well serviced. My apologies- I am unable to attend Saturday.
Very sorry to learn of the passing of Glenis. My sincere condolences to the family. Glenis and I were school friends, enjoying many fun times together, including being part of a family camping trip. Glenis and I were bridesmaid for each other nearly 60 years ago. I hold many treasured memories of our shared times together. Thinking of you all as you say goodbye to Glenis on Saturday. Thinking of the family at this time. Mrs Whipp was a great Girls Brigade leader I went to Girls Brigade she inspired me to become a leader myself RIP Mrs Whipp you were a caring lovely lady.
Its been a long time since swimming Aaron and Shawn but remembering Glenis from that time. Thinking of you both and sorry can't join you on Saturday.
