Just heard the sad news. Mick was in the watchouse the morning I was sworn in by Harry Alty and put on the train for Trentham. He gave me a real rundown (or his version) on Trentham and what I could expect. Thanks Mick, you filled me with confidence. Worked at Bluff with Mick.....he had the best 'cabinet' I had seen up till then. A great character I had mountains of respect for. Regards to Greg, and the whole family.

Very sad to hear of Micks passing. I have wonderful memories of the day we were sworn in as constables and of the time we shared together at police training school and in Invercargill.
