On January 8, 2025, peacefully at Otago Community Hospice; aged 43 years.
Loved and adored wife of Craig, loved Mum to Ashley, Ryan, and Emily, loved daughter of Sue and the late Peter, loved sister of Paula. Special thanks to the staff of Dunedin Hospital, Otago Community Hospice, our friends, family, and the Macraes community for your care and support.
- A Memorial service to celebrate Erin's life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, at 2:00pm, on Wednesday, January 15.
In lieu of flowers donations to Otago Community Hospice would be appreciated and may be left at the service. Messages can be left on Erin's page below, where you can find a link to livestream the service.

My deepest condolences to the Howard family I don’t know you personally but I know Sue and have heard what a beautiful family you are. Erin fought so hard . R.I.P Erin. Life is so unfair sometimes.

Our sincerest condolences to the Umbers and Howard family. Erin put up such a brave fight - she mentioned she got that tenacity from her dad 💙 a beautiful and brave soul.
Erin was my first best friend, and my childhood memories are full of her. Building huts, riding ponies and bikes, playing sonic and tails for hours on the sega... even then Erin stood strong in her convictions and her love for animals and the environment was clear. I'll never forget giggling at school (because we were both extremely funny, well we thought so anyway) Erin always marched to the beat of her own drum, giving others the confidence to do the same. My deepest condolences to her family during this time.

Dear Craig, Ashley, Ryan and Emily It is with great sadness that we acknowledge your loss. Unfortunately Brigid and I won't be able to make it down next week but we will be there in spirit. Erin was a gem. She was a wonderful advocate for her children, a great supporter of Macraes Moonlight School, an environmental warrior, and a hell of a lot of fun at Wild Food nights and other functions at the hall!
