- Peacefully in Dunedin Hospital on January 18, 2025; aged 94 years. Loved wife of the late Craig, much loved mother and mother-in-law of Judy Fukofuka, Joan and Ray Duncan, Dave and Allie, loved grandmother of Sione, Rachel, Keli; Katie, James, Taylor, and Emma, loved great-grandmother of Isabella, Sione, Elijah, Carter, Isaac, Flynn, Noah, Tobias, Josh, Rhys, and Fletcher, dearly loved sister of Bob, and the late Wattie. Special thanks to the carers of Yvette Williams Retirement Village for their care of Elizabeth.
- A Service for Elizabeth will be held in Hope and Sons chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, at 11am on Thursday, January 23, followed by private cremation. Messages for the Peterson family can be left below.

My condolences to the Peterson family. I remember your mum as a sweet lady through the highland dancing days. I danced with you Judy and Joan was an age below us. I remember David as a wee fellow and your dear dad working on the door at St Kilda Town Hall when the dancing was on—thinking of you all at this sad time. Lorraine (Nee Smith)
To the greater Peterson Family, My sincere condolences on the loss of Grandma. What an absolute stalwart she was too. She & Grandad Peterson certainly made a formidable pair. I shall remember with fond memories her sitting with me on her many trips to Nelson to revise my dancing theory in preparation for exams. In later years the many delicious lunches, wonderful dinners. Picking & shelling peas from Grandads vegetable garden discussing all manner of topics. The Highland Dancing fraternity along with the New Zealand Pipe Band unfortunately have lost yet another incredibly passionate & dedicated supporter. A huge totara may have fallen from your family forest, however as the light breaks through, those sheltered under its protection may now take up the mantel....to which there are many.
