Elaine Joy Chisnall

I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to Elaine's family. I had the pleasure of working with Elaine for many years at the hospital, as a colleague and as a manager. She was a dedicated nurse, charge nurse and manager. Elaine was a very kind, caring and supportive person and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

So sorry to read Elaine has passed away. I worked with Elaine at the Covid clinic. A lovely reliable person to chat with and enjoyed her humour. Thinking of all her family at this sad time.

On behalf of the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Otago, I extend our condolences and deepest sympathies to Elaine's family and friends. Elaine worked for the Faculty as a senior leader and was highly regarded for her commitment to her staff and for her championing of patient care and well-being. Our thoughts are with you all today.

Elaine was a member of our U3A Book Share group since its inception four years ago. Elaine was a vibrant, clever, and kind group member who read the most interesting books, often set in other countries and linked to her background in a caring profession. We enjoyed her contribution to wide-ranging discussions, her gentle probing on opinions held, and her generosity in sharing her wide experience. We will miss her at our afternoon teas, her friendship, and Maggie the dog will miss the pats. Our condolences to Elaine's family. Mama Bear, you were the best Mum ever and so much more - my rock, my number one supporter, my shelter in the storm, and my best friend too. You have left an unfillable Mum-shaped hole in my life but I will carry you with me always and forever. Rest easy Mama Bear, Tobi and I will be just fine, love from your Baby Bear, Sarah xxxx

I would like to send my sincere condolences to Elaine’s family and friends. We worked together at the Covid vaccination centre. Elaine was a lovely person, friendly and funny. We shared many a laugh and joke together. She was kind and generous, a real pleasure to work with. I’m so sorry I didn’t know about her illness, I would have loved to visit her. It doesn’t seem long ago that I met her in town, and we had a lovely chat, no indication that she was unwell. She will be missed. Unfortunately, I’m unable to attend the funeral as I’m currently in Auckland. I will be thinking of her and her loved ones.
