On February 27, 2026, after a short illness; aged 81 years. Dearly loved wife of the late David, much loved mother of Peter and Kirsten, Michael and Vicki, Melanie and Craig, loved grandma of Nikita, Morris, Rose, Lester, George, Louis, Lola, and Leo, and great-grandma of Ahi, loved sister of Murray, and Kaye.
A Celebration of Diane's life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, at 2pm, on Thursday March 5, followed by interment in Drybread Cemetery on Friday March 6, at 11am. In lieu of flowers donations to the Otago Community Hospice would be appreciated and may be left at the service or below. I was so sad to hear of Di's passing. She was always a happy, gentle woman who always had time to talk to me and ask how life was. I have many fond memories of 'the gang' and our holidays, learning to drive the 4 wheel drive at Di and Dave's 10-acre block in Wanaka involved sitting on one of the adults' knees and steering while the chosen adult did the pedals and gears - I was 10. The parties our parents threw, which we were often thrown into a sleeping bag and into a spare bedroom at the host's house, along with 20 other children. These are just some of the great memories I have growing up, and Di and Dave being part of 'the gang' along with my Mum and Dad. Rest easy, Di, you will always be missed and remembered fondly with a story and a smile. Much love to you, Pete, Mike, Mel and families, Lou (Nevin)
So sad to learn of your Mums passing. I have some many happy memories of her and the times spent having intelligent and interesting conversations well in advance of my/ our years. I was always made to feel so welcome in her presence and value that to this day. Travel in peace.

I was filled with admiration at the way Diane coped and accepted with such grace the loss of her precious David. I remember her saying that they had had such a good life together. Her gratitude for the good seemed to leave no room for regret. It sounds as though she faced her own departure with the same courage and grace. I'm sure you will feel sadness but no regret as I know that she always felt so supported and loved by her family. We will all miss her. Yan Campbell
