On December 10, 2025, at St Andrews Rest Home; at the great age of 96 years.
Dearly loved husband of the late Nancy, much loved father and father-in-law of Dianne and Wayne, Warren, Raylene, Jennifer and Ross, adored Granddad and Great-Granddad of his many Grand-Children and Great-Grandchildren, and special friend of Val.
A Celebration of Des' life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, Dunedin, at 11am on Wednesday December 17, the funeral then leaving for Portobello Cemetery.

Rip great uncle des you always had a smile on your face! I’m sure all the family are with you now!
Des was a kind neighbour to us - we are on the north side of his walkway. Des gave us bags of his home grown tomatoes, and was up for a chat! Des - you don’t need to keep a watchful eye on our roof anymore - we have just replaced it. Rest easy.
