Passed away peacefully, on October 11, 2024 in Dunedin Hospital; aged 94 years. Loved husband for 71 years, of Noeline (McLeod), father and father in-law to Gillian and Robert Nicholson (Auckland), Geoffrey and Bernadette (Rarotonga), Peter and Sandra (Christchurch), Nadine and Geoffrey Ireland (Melbourne), Vanessa and Martyn Jagusch (Auckland), Andrew and Liz (Dunedin), grandad to Emma, Kate, Samuel, Campbell, Mackenzie, Alexander, Victoria, Logann, Ben, Josh, Sam, and the late Natalie. Eldest son of the late John and Jessie (Fiveash), brother of Henry, and John (Dunedin) and the late Jessie (Rodgers), and Arthur, beloved brother-in-law and uncle to his extended family. The family would like to pass on their thanks to the staff of Dunedin Hospital, and all who looked after Colin, for their care and compassion.
- A Service to celebrate Colin's wonderful life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Anderson's Bay Road, Dunedin at 11am on Wednesday, October 16, followed by private cremation. Messages can be left below.

It is so hard to know what to write, but you all spoke so well at the service - He would have been so proud of you all. Adjusting to life without a loved one is challenging at times & memories often sneak up when you are least expecting them. As always, keeping you in my thoughts & sending all my love & hugs. Dear Noline, dear Vanessa, I only had one or two occasions to meet Colin but they were enough for me to appreciate what a wonderful person he was and how much he meant to you both, and to his broader (and extensive!) family and circle of friends. Eleanor and I was very sad on hearing today by way of Grant Martin that Colin Stoddart had passed away, he was a great supporter of "Our Hut" in Tahakopa as was his brother Henry. Their late Uncle Cecil Stoddart owned the farm opposite the Tahakopa School and he farmed that farm for many years, hence lots of holiday's Colin and Colin had with their Uncle here in the Tahakopa Valley. Uncle Cecil use to just open the farm house door and say to the young boys, go to it and enjoy yourselves out on my farm you boys. Both Colin and Henry sure knew lots of the history of the Tahakopa Valley, and the Catlins in general.
