Oh Charlotte, I had no idea you were fighting your battle. To your family, I am so sad to come across this tragic news. I loved working with Charlotte on 8 Med Dunedin Hospital. I am deeply, so sorry for the loss of such a beautiful, happy, caring and kind hearted young lady. My thoughts are with you all.

Charlotte, I will forever be greatful for the memories we have 'working' together. Your laugh, your smile, your energy, kindness and love for life will always stay strong in my thoughts. You lived life to the fullest, NEVER sat still, so many memorable yarns. We had the world's problems solved over a coffee. one in a million, an absolute legend, you fought hard. I will miss you but I will never forget you xxx

I am forever grateful our nursing journey brought Charlotte and I together. Living at William St navigating our way through our new grad year of nursing was something I will cherish forever. Charlotte taught me so much; how to thrift shop, be spontaneous, say yes to every opportunity no matter how scary it seemed, introduced me to buckwheat, chickpeas, Dunedin’s best coffee spots and beaches and lastly how to live, laugh and love everyday.

I worked with Charlotte for her time on 4c. I have such fond memories of our time on the ward. One morning when I was feeling sad after leaving my daughter at the Hospital Daycare, Charlotte cheered me up sharing her memories of her time there and growing up in the hospital. On a busy ward Charlotte was such a bright shining light, always willing to help but also enjoying a yarn and a laugh, I loved our time together and will not forget it. My deepest sympathy to her family, she was such a beautiful girl inside and out.

Hard to think of what to write, so cannot imagine what you are going through. So here goes, Charlotte was a true friend for Olivia right from the start of year 11 when joining Columba, and she was so grateful and surprised when Suz brought her through to Wanaka for their wedding, and we all appreciated how difficult it was for Charlotte to see someone entering a new phase in their life when that choice was taken away from her. Over the years we so enjoyed being able to share Charlotte, Abby @ Liv success and graduations and to see them help each other along the way. Charlotte was sooo excited when she started cycling going Tanz I’ve found something I love that I’m really good at with that typical beaming smile . A message of condolence from Sophia Calteaux who I now work with who was Charlottes supervisor at new world - in her words cheeky but a hard worker. There’s nothing else we can say - just such a lovely lively girl with the world at her fingertips, and we are so so sorry to lose her!

The lasting memory of Charlotte that I shall keep with me was that smile and the glow of blonde curls as she bounced enthusiastically down the ward. She was a great colleague ( always helping us physios out) and became a good friend. I am saddened by what you had to endure over the past 12 months but you absolutely packed life into those 29 years. Rest well now dear Charlotte x

I had the great fortune of meeting Charlotte when I joined Dunedin Hospital as a surgeon in 2019. We worked together on the ward, in outpatients and I was delighted when she joined me at Intus to support the transition to our new clinic. I was also privileged to be one of her PGDip mentors. Working alongside Charlotte was always a joy. She was caring, knowledgeable, quick to smile and great fun. I will miss her

Dear Suzanne and Craig, My deepest sympathies at the lost of Charlotte, it is so absoutely heart breaking. Most of my interactions with Charlotte were at the creche when she was just a wee girl. Her and Emma were so close in age, so they were together the whole time. What I mostly remember, even as a wee girl, she was just so fun loving and likeable. After watching her service today, its clear those attributes stuck with her. Sending much love xx

Dear Suzanne and Craig. I'm sad that illness prevented me from attending today. It was wonderful to hear all the stories about Charlotte, that wee seven year old that followed Sam around when we lived in your neck of the woods. What an inspiring life and personality along with the wonderful tributes from her friends and colleagues. You can be very proud of the daughter you raised.
