On August 8, 2026, peacefully at Leslie Groves Hospital; aged 87 years.
Dearly loved daughter of Peter* and Robina (Robbie)* Lyders, much loved sister and sister-in-law of Diane and David Reid (Canada), and Marian* and Basil Steele (Tasman), loved Aunt of Elliot, Stephanie, and Joanna Pahl, loved cousin of the wider Whyte, Lyders, Rawlinson, and Fitzpatrick families (*denotes deceased).
A celebration of Carole's life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, Dunedin, at 11am on Friday, August 14, followed by private cremation. Messages to The Lyders Family, C/- PO Box 5013, Dunedin 9054, or on Carole's page below where there is a link to view the service.

Dear Diane, David and the Lyders family Kevin and I have just heard of Carole's passing. While it is often hit and miss with keeping up contacts globally the Lyders family is very much a part of our early life and, spasmodically, later life. Passing through London we briefly made contact with Carole. Just making the contact was important. Carole was always a colourful character and so engrossed in life wherever she was. I tried to reconnect with you guys last Christmas on the mobile and got a stranger who did not know you! I wasn't sure if you were alive or where you were even. So Carole has been a wonderful help in bringing us together again. Diane, you were so good with your accounts of annual escapades. Please, get in contact with me through the above. We have a lot to catch - up. Thank you Carole for providing a contact point on your new journey. May you rest in peace and continue encouraging all those amazing aspects of life for which the whole Lyders family was renown.
