I am very sorry that I cannot be there today to celebrate Fred's life. I will always remember him for his humour, his kindness and the fact that he was very clever. I also remember working in the school holidays at Bayview Rd while he was practicing on his Cornet, prior to going away with the national brass band - it was so crystal clear - that will never go away.
