Sincere condolence Margaret & family. Having known Ray since high school days and Jaycee membership this is a sad loss. I much valued his organizational skills and very much appreciated an OBHS class reunion he arranged a few years back. He always worked with reliable enthusiasm and special humor. It was so sad to hear the news that Ray had passed away recently. I had a lot to do with ray as his wife Margret was one of the administration stars at Kings High School. We socialized a lot and as long as we stayed off the subject of OBHS V Kings we had a great time Ray being an old OBHS boy and I a Kings lad. Aging certainly throws up its challenges. My thoughts are with Margret and family and Ray, thanks for so many good times.
Stu and I are saddened to hear of Ray's death. First got to know Ray when in Jaycees and then through Margaret's work. Have spent many happy hours with Ray and Margaret when they retired to Wanaka. Our condolences to Margaret, Lisa and family. He will be sadly missed.

So very very sorry to hear about the passing of Ray. I first met him about 48 years ago when he and my extra husband were members of The Jaycees organization. Many a Friday night spent opening oysters and selling them at the pub. We spent many happy hours with him Margaret, Tania and Lisa. He was a great person full of life and had a wicked sense of humor. Many a great night was held at his house. My condolences to all his family. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Cheryl
So sorry to hear that Ray is no longer with us .We first met at Dunedin East Rotary where Ray's quirky sense of humour left a lasting impression on me.When Jen and I had Monarch Wildlife Cruises Ray changed my name to Captain Pugwash!! Subsequently we met up again in Wanaka through Rotary and Friday golf where Ray organised our rag tag bunch for many enjoyable times chasing small white balls before retiring for happy drinks ,stories and yarns.Ray was a good man and a loyal friend.Thoughts go to Lisa and family. Sorry to read of Ray's passing. We were really good friends with them both Margaret & Ray when they were in Wanaka. Sadly we lost contact with them when they shifted to Dunedin. Our thoughts and condolences to the family. Much sympathy, Ken & Kathryn Mitchell
